GII held  three (3) regional (Volta, Eastern, and Upper East) Media Engagement in collaboration with the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The media engagement was aimed at enhancing awareness of the private sector actors on business laws and current developments within the two institutions vis-a-vis promoting transparency, accountability, integrity, ethical standards and compliance. The media discussions also focused on beneficial ownership and fiscal measures and policy in the 2021 budget statement.

The objectives for organizing this workshop was to:

  1. Promote awareness on GRA’s service delivery charters
  2. Promote awareness of the current tax policies per the 2021 Budget statement (including tax waivers)
  3. Raise awareness on the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS)
  4. Promote awareness on RGD’s service delivery charters including the efficient and effective administration of entities
  5. Raise awareness on the beneficial ownership register for the extractives and other high-risk sectors
  6. Discuss the challenges of promoting transparency, accountability and compliance during the Covid-19
